Robert Telfer has been making custom sat nav mounts for a number of years, in fact the first one I purchased was to fit my Triumph Sprint ST and when I sold the bike I left the mount on for the new owner as I had no intention of buying another Sprint ST but then I went out and bought another Sprint ST, obviously if I had known I would have removed the Telferizer mount from the original bike, so another Telferizer sat nav mount was purchased from Bob and duly fitted to my second Sprint ST and the same thing happened when I purchased my Honda CBR1100 Blackbird and finally when I purchased my Yamaha FJR1300, in fact I ordered the mount for the FJR1300 even before I had picked the bike up from the dealers.
Each mount is custom made to fit the relevant make and model, in the case of the FJR Telferizer actually provide 2 options one which is a replacement bolt that costs £20.00 and a second option replaces the headstock nut, this is one I went for and this costs £40.00.
Installation is very simple, the only tools needed are a 36mm socket for the headstock nut and an 11mm spanner for connect the 2 pieces together.
The first thing you needed to do is to remove the existing Yamaha headstock nut using the 36mm socket.
Next is to install the beautifully made Telferizer replacement headstock nut.
Next you simply connect the RAM ball onto the headstock tool.
Then it’s simply a case of using my existing RAM arm and Garmin mount.
