Today’s little ride started like many of our latest ride outs with a stop at the Salt Box Cafe in Hatton, after fuelling ourselves up we headed out onto the A50/A515 towards Ashbourne and the start of one of my favourite routes – final destination the infamous Cat and Fiddle.

Cat and Fiddle

Just before we reach Ashbourne we turn left onto the A52/A523 towards Leek, this is a nice road with great views of the surrounding area, just take care and watch out for the numerous speed camera that have been installed along this road.

When we reached the outskirts of Leek, we turned right onto the A53 towards Buxton. As you go from Leek towards Buxton, after you have passed the signs for the reservoir you cannot help notice the very large and imposing rock formation known as The Roaches on your left, so will pulled over and had a look around, the views from the top of these rocks are quite amazing.

After our little stop it was back on the road towards Buxton, and again just before Buxton we turned left on the famous A54/A537 Cat and Fiddle pass with a stop off at the pub with the same name.

After warming up with coffee and the usual chat we turned around a headed back the way we came.
